April 1909: Sale of Pictures, Including Those Removed from Holmwood House, Cathcart, in the Saloon of The Mart, 7 West Nile Street, on Friday the 23rd – Six by Hugh Cameron
The advertisement for the auction, by J. & R. Edmiston, is on page sixteen of The Glasgow Herald, on
Monday the 19th of April, 1909, and provides the titles of the six paintings by Hugh Cameron, removed
from Holmwood House, Cathcart:
KING ARTHUR,
QUEEN GUINEVERE,
SIR LANCELOT,
ELAINE,
MERLIN and
ENID
The advertisement claims all were painted in 1845, but this is a typographical error.
Catalogues were available, on application.
