September 1928: Harry Lauder for Glasgow – Article in “The Port-Glasgow Express”
An article on page three of The Port-Glasgow Express, on Friday the 7th of September, 1928, reads:
“Harry Lauder for Glasgow.
To speak of Harry Lauder is to speak of one who has done more than any living man to place and keep
Scotland in the forefront of nations, and it is with pleasure that the Glasgow Alhambra announces that
Lauder will make one of his re-appearances at that house, week commencing 10th inst. There will be two
houses nightly at the usual times, and for the special convenience of country patrons, a special matinee
will be given on Wednesday, September 12th, commencing at 2.30. As there has already been a big demand
for seats, our readers are reminded that early aplication [sic] is desirable. For those in this district, it should
be noted that seats for all performances can be booked at Messrs. Butlers, 23 West Blackhall Street, Greenock.”
