December 1916: Death of Mr John Wilson
An obituary, on page six of The Scotsman, on Wednesday the 6th of December, 1916, reads:
“THE LATE MR JOHN WILSON, GLASGOW. — The death has taken place at his residence in Glasgow of
Mr John Wilson, head of the Wilson Advertising Agency, Jamaica Street. Mr Wilson took a prominent part
in supporting Scottish Nationalism, and for three years he edited the Scottish Patriot. He was the founder of
the Scottish Song Society, one of the original promoters of the Scottish Patriotic Association, and a former
president of the Scottish Burns Club.”
