January 1927: Verse-Speaking Records – Miss Bertha Waddell

A short article on page five of the Bellshill Speaker, on Friday the 28th of January, 1927, reads:

 

UDDINGSTON.

 

Verse-Speaking Records.

 

Miss Bertha Waddell, a well-known elocutionist, late of The Grange, Uddingston, now of

Caldergrove, Hallside, has been engaged by a well-known Gramophone Company to make

some verse-speaking records.”
