March 1937: Jewish Book Exhibition in Glasgow
An article on page seven of The Glasgow Herald, on Friday the 5th of March, 1937, reads:
“JEWISH BOOK EXHIBITION IN GLASGOW
Over 260 children, representing Jewish religious schools in Glasgow,
attended the Jewish Book Week Exhibition yesterday in the McLellan
Galleries, Glasgow.
The Rev Dr I. K. Cosgrove, minister of Garnethill Synagogue, who
addressed the children, said they should be proud to be citizens of
this great country, where tolerance and freedom prevailed. In
Germany to-day Jewish books were being banned by the Nazis.”
