Marion Lochhead, “Saint Mungo’s Bairns”, 1948

 

 

A review on page three of The Glasgow Herald, on Thursday the 16th of

December, 1948, reads:

 

“SAINT MUNGO’S BAIRNS (8s 6d net: Moray Press), by Marion

Lochhead, tells Glasgow’s story in a way that should interest children,

through a series of short sketches of local men and manners ranging from

St Mungo himself to a 1913 soirée. Illustrations by Nan Muirhead Moffat

show evidence of considerable historical research.”
