The Plight of Unpaid Carers in Scotland (17): Glasgow and Its Carers Champion

I have lots of newspaper cuttings with articles, and other details, relating to Glasgow’s Carers’ Champion,

including the one from The Herald, in 2015, below.

In 2022, I contacted one of my councillors, to inquire about whether there likely was to be another Champion,

and was informed that the most recent attempt to appoint one had not been successful.

In addition, plans were in place to strengthen carer engagement with unpaid carers through the Carer

Reference Group. The intention was to invite a specific councillor to meet with the Group “to consider future

options to strengthen carer engagement”.

Information about the Group can be found at:

The pdf file includes a reference to the hope to have a Carers’ Champion. The document is not dated.
