An Editorial Diary, November 1948: “Poetry and Music” – a Recital in the McLellan Galleries, Sauchiehall Street, in December

‘AN EDITORIAL DIARY’, on page two of The Glasgow Herald, on Saturday the 27th of November, 1948, includes:

Poetry and Music

Several recitals of poetry and music were given by the Apollo Society at the Edinburgh Festival this year, and now

Glasgow is to have a recital by this Society under the auspices of the Glasgow Art Gallery and Museum [sic] Association.

The recital will be given in the McLellan Galleries, on Tuesday evening, December 14, by Joyce Grenfell, Laurier Lister,

and Angus Morrison.

Glasgow playgoers may recall that the revue ‘Tuppence Coloured,’ at the Theatre Royal some months ago, was

presented by Mr Lister, and that Miss Grenfell was the leading lady. Angus Morrison is well known as a pianist,

and is often heard on the air.”
