Bridgeton Saturday Evening Concerts, October 1879

An article on page four of The Glasgow Herald, on Monday the 13th of October reads:

“BRIDGETON SATURDAY EVENING CONCERTS. – The directors of the Bridgeton Adult and Juvenile Total Abstinence Society, who endeavour to promote in

various ways the social elevation of the inhabitants of the Eastern district, gave an excellent concert on Saturday evening. The hall was crowded, and Mr Robert

Paterson occupied the chair. Miss Ormond, Messrs R. Shearer, McAusland, Kinnaird and Lindsay, and the Macdonald-Milne family, five in number, were the

artistes engaged, and their performances evidently gave great satisfaction.”
