Choral Effects by the Women of The Glasgow Orpheus Choir, in Michael Powell’s “The Edge of the World”, 1937

There is a clip of the introduction to Michael Powell’s 1937 film, The Edge of the World, on youtube. It was uploaded by hgwman.

 

Wikipedia notes that the story is loosely based on the evacuation of St Kilda, and the cast includes John Laurie, Belle Chrystall, Finlay

Currie and Niall MacGinnis. The film was made on the island of Foula.

 

It is available on DVD and Blu-ray.

 

The opening credits include the following:
