Court and Alley Concerts, August 1912: Lyon Street Court, Cowcaddens

An article on page three of The Glasgow Herald, on Thursday the 22nd of August, 1912, reads:

 

COURT AND ALLEY CONCERTS.

 

The usual weekly concert was given last night to a large audience in Lyon Street Court, Cowcaddens.

Councillor Bryce presided, and Councillor Cairns and Mr Johnstone, secretary of the Ward Committee,

were also present. The programme was in the hands of the band of the 76th company of the Boys’

Brigade, with the following artists: – Messrs Oliver and Twist, duettists; Sam. Irvine and R. G. Gillespie,

vocalists; Fred Gordon, comedian; George Bunting, concertina soloist; Mr Ferrier, pianist. On the motion

of ex-Bailie William Martin, hearty votes of thanks were awarded.”
