Court and Alley Concerts, August 1912: West College Street

An article on page three of The Glasgow Herald, on Friday the 16th of August, 1912, reads:

 

COURT AND ALLEY CONCERTS.

 

The usual weekly concert was held on Wednesday evening in West College Street. An

audience of over 2000 enjoyed an entertainment of songs, dances, and pipe band

selections. The concert was presided over by Mr William Annan. The following artists

gave their services: – Miss L. Millar, step and Highland dancer; Mr James Gibson,

baritone vocalist, Mr Tom Angus, Scotch comedian; and Mr H. G. Gillespie, bass; Mr

John Ferrier, accompanist. The pipe band of the 86th Boys’ Brigade rendered a number

of selections.”
