December 1858: Saturday Evening Concerts in the City Hall – Second Appearance of Madlle. Vaneri, in Glasgow, on the 11th

An advertisement on the front page of The Glasgow Herald, on Friday the 10th of December, 1858, informed readers

that “MADLLE. VANERI”, the “distinguished Soprano”, would make her second appearance in Glasgow, on Saturday the

11th. The City Hall was the venue.

 

Among the other performers, were: Miss Aitken, “late of the Theatre Royal”; Miss Magee; Mr. Tedder, “the celebrated

London Tenor”; and Mr. Maclagan. Mrs. Alexander was the pianist, and Mr. Lambeth the organist. The organ performance

commenced at 7.30.
