December 1915: Advertisement for Mrs Kennedy Fraser’s Only Recital this Season, of Songs of the Hebrides, in the Athenaeum

An advertisement on the front page of The Oban and Argyllshire Advertiser, on Saturday the 11th of December, 1915, reads:

 

“GLASGOW ATHENAEUM,

WEDNESDAY, 22ND DECEMBER, AT 8.

MRS KENNEDY FRASER’S

ONLY RECITAL THIS SEASON OF

SONGS OF THE HEBRIDES,

COLLECTED IN THE WESTERN ISLES.

The Programme will include the following, as yet

unpublished, which will appear shortly in a second

volume (50 songs), now in the Press : —

Herdman Night. The Cradle Spell of Dunvegan.

Coll Nursing Lilt. Islay Reaper’s Croon.

The Herdmaid. St. Bride’s Cleansing Croon.

Land of Heart’s Desire. The Glen of Spells (Ossianic).

The Dawn Reiving. Peat Fire Smooring Prayer.

Isle of My Heart. The Birlinn of the White Shoulders.
