February 1900: Master James Friskin – Gains Scholarship to the Royal College of Music, London

A short notice on page six of The Glasgow Herald, on Tuesday the 27th of February, 1900, reads:

 

“ATHENAEUM SCHOOL OF MUSIC.—At the competitions held last week at the Royal College of

Music, London, the principal scholarship for pianoforte playing, open to the United Kingdom,

was gained by Master James Frisken [sic], who has been a pupil in the Athenaeum School of Music

for some years. The scholarship is tenable for three years.”
