February 1933: University of Glasgow – Monday Free Lectures – Eighth and Concluding Lecture of the “Art and Modern Life” Series

An advertisement on the front page of The Glasgow Herald, on Wednesday the 22nd of February, 1933, informs readers that W. Gillies Whittaker, Professor of Music at the University of Glasgow, would deliver the eighth and final lecture of the series on Monday the 27th. Its subject was “Music and Modern Life”, and was held in the University’s Botany Lecture Room, on University Avenue.

 

The lecture, which was free to attend and open to the public without ticket, commenced at 8.30 pm.
