Gift of an American Bell Organ to Glasgow’s Samaritan Hospital for Women, March 1894

A short notice on page six of The Glasgow Herald,on Friday the 16th of March, 1894, informed readers that:

 

“At a meeting of the House Committee of the Glasgow Samaritan Hospital for Women held yesterday, Mr Andrew Tindal, in the name of a few friends of the hospital, including himself, presented the directors with a very fine American Bell organ for the use of the institution. Mr Thomson, the chairman, accepted the gift in suitable terms, and expressed the satisfaction it would give the directors and staff if lady volunteers would offer their services in playing for the patients during the afternoon or evening.”
