From page six of The Glasgow Herald, Monday the 2nd of May, 1892:

“GLASGOW GALLOWAY INSTITUTE: – This association of Galloway people, which is now entering its fifth year of existence, and has hitherto met at 34 St Enoch Square, occupied its new premises at 33 Dundas Street for the first time on Friday night. There was a good attendance. Sheriff Guthrie, hon. president, being in the chair. The president having welcomed the members to their new rooms, an excellent musical programme was gone through. At the conclusion of the programme the President, in the name of the committee, presented the winner in the recent bagatelle tournament, Mr T. Sproat, with a handsome silver pendant.”
