Glasgow Lyrical Society, October 1876

An advertisement on the front page of The Glasgow Herald, on Monday the 2nd of October, 1876, reads:

 

“GLASGOW LYRICAL SOCIETY—P. S. TERRAS, Conductor—will resume this SESSION as a

PRIVATE SOCIETY.

The Opening Meeting for Enrolment of Members, &c., will be held in Belgravia College, 13 Newton

Terrace (Sauchiehall Street), on Thursday Evening, 5th Oct., at 8 o’clock.

Ladies and Gentlemen desirous of joining the Society are invited to attend on that evening. Annual

Subscription—Gentlemen, One Guinea; Ladies, One Half-guinea.
