From an advertisement in The Glasgow Herald, 12th August, 1825:
The classes for the various branches of musical education will be opened for the reception of pupils on Thursday the 1st of September.
Piano Forte ………… Mr. Thomson and assistants
Vocal Music ………. Miss Thomson
Flute ………………… Mr. Nicol
Violin and Violoncello ……….. Mr. Simpson
Thorough Base and Composition …. Mr. Thomson
A class will be formed from 8 to 10 evening for gentlemen who may be desirous of acquiring a knowledge of Glee Singing, &c., conducted by Mr. Thomson.
Terms and hours of attendance may be known by applying at the Academy.
