A short article on page four of The Glasgow Herald, on Saturday the 19th of November, 1964, reads:
“GARTNAVEL ROYAL ASYLUM. – A grand concert was given on Thursday night to the invalids, by Mr. Hawthorn
and twenty-eight amateur ladies and gentlemen, principally members of the choir of St. Stephen’s Church. The Rev.
Mr. Horn occupied the chair. The music gave universal satisfaction, the dance followed as usual, and the whole went
off with great eclat. Mr. James Frame acted as master of the ceremonies with his usual ability.”
