James Friskin, Not Frisken, and the Glasgow Newspapers
Searching for information about a particular individual can be made difficult when their
name is misspelt in a newspaper or journal.
James Friskin is one example. The Glasgow Herald, in 1900, spelt his surname with an “e”,
whereas the North British Daily Mail provided the correct spelling in one issue, the same year.
