January 1900: Canal Boatmen’s Institute – Singing by Mrs Duff – James Smith, of Woodlands Church, Organist

An article on page six of The Glasgow Herald, on Monday the 8th of January, 1900, reads:

 

“CANAL BOATMEN’S INSTITUTE – At the P. S. A. meeting yesterday Major W. F. Allan

presided over a good attendance. Bailie Dick delivered an address on the work of Christ

while on earth. Mrs Duff sang with much feeling ‘Angels Guard Thee’ and ‘Heavens Voices.’

Mr James Smith, organist, Woodlands Church, played two organ solos and accompaniments.”
