March 1864: Glasgow Society for Social Reform – Concert in Hamilton, with Miss Helen Kirk and the “Celebrated” Glasgow Orchestra

An article under the heading, “HAMILTON.”, on page four of The Glasgow Herald, on Friday the 4th of March, 1864,

reads:

 

“CONCERT.—On Wednesday evening the concluding monthly concert for the season, under the auspices of the Glasgow

Society for Social Reform, came off in the Town Hall, which was crowded with a most respectable audience. The

artistes were Miss Helen Kirk, Miss Dunsmore, Miss Eliza Ward, and Mr Goodlet (Scotch comic vocalist), besides the

celebrated Glasgow orchestra, who all gave much satisfaction.”
