Mr. Gray, Conductor of Ball Music, April 1850

An advertisement on page two of The Glasgow Herald, on Monday the 8th of April, 1850, reads:

 

“MR. GRAY,

CONDUCTOR OF BALL MUSIC,

272 (?:number hard to read) BUCHANAN STREET,

GLASGOW.

LARGE, or Small BANDS provided for BALLS, DINNERS,

&c. &c. &c., in Town or Country. Cards, addressed as above,

will receive immediate attention, and Parties may rely on first-rate

Artistes being employed on all occasions.”

 

Gray is not listed in the directories covering the years 1848-50, so may have been a temporary resident/ visitor.
