Mr. Milne, Ballads and Songs of Scotland, at the Merchants’ Hall, on Monday the 9th of December, 1850

On page three of The Glasgow Herald, on Friday the 29th of November, 1850, there is a small advertisement, which reads:

“BALLADS AND SONGS OF SCOTLAND.

MR. MILNE, VOCALIST, will give an ENTERTAINMENT of

SCOTTISH SONG, in the Merchants’ Hall, Hutcheson Street,

on Monday Evening, 9th December.

Further particulars will be given in future Advertisements.”

Presumably, the singer was Alexander Milne, as listed on page 130 of David Baptie’s Musical Scotland, Past and Present . . . , 1894.
