Music at the U. P. Mission Church (Partick) Grand Bazaar, in the Merchants’ Hall, March 1866

An article on page five of The Glasgow Herald, on Wednesday the 7th of March, 1866, provides an account of the opening of the Bazaar on Tuesday. It was noted that the “band of the 21st Regiment, under the leadership of Mr. Van Heddeghim, was present during a great part of the day, and played popular selections at intervals.”

Reporting on Wednesday’s sale, the Herald commented on page four, on the 9th, that the: “proceedings … were much enlivened by the excellent performances of the Glasgow Orchestra, under the able leadership of Mr. Adams.”
