New Scottish Song, April 1856: “Memory Dear”, by John James Ewart, Known as Professor Ewart, the Ventriloquist

An advertisement on page seven of The Glasgow Herald, on Friday the 18th of April, 1856, reads:

 

“NEW SCOTTISH SONG.

MEMORY DEAR.

By JOHN JAMES EWART,

Known as Professor EWART, the Ventriloquist.

This beautiful song, which has been sung nightly by

Miss Anna Greive, in Edinburgh, and has created such a
