November 1850: Julius Seligmann’s First Grand Evening Concert in Scotland, in the City Hall, on Thursday the 28th – When His Pupil, Miss Christina Dawson, Will Make Her First Appearance Before a Glasgow Audience

There is an advertisement on page three of The Glasgow Herald, on Monday the 11th of November, 1850. In addition to Miss Christina

Dawson, the other performers included: Miss Josephine Bassano; Mr. Miranda; Miss Calvert; Mr. H. E. Dibdin; Mr. Seligmann; and Mr.

Moritz.

 

It was noted that “the general arrangements of the Concert will be under the direction of Mr. MUIR WOOD.” Ticket prices ranged from

one, to five shillings, and a plan of the reserved seats could be seen at Messrs Wood and Co., 42 Buchanan Street.

 

The advertisement also details the programme of each performer’s songs and music.
