October 1873: The Jubilee Singers’ Morning Concert, in the Queen’s Rooms, on Saturday the 18th

There is a short review of the Singer’s concert, on page five of the North British Daily Mail, on Monday the 20th of October,

1873. It reads:

“THE JUBILEE SINGERS.

On Saturday the Jubilee Singers, whose attractive concerts we have on more than one occasion referred to,

gave a morning performance in the Queen’s Rooms, when they met with a most flattering welcome, every

available seat in the Rooms finding an occupant. The concert, like its predecessors, was an entirely enjoyable

one, and the audience did not fail to mark their appreciation of the performance by the enthusiastic manner in

which they encored a number of the songs.”
