September 1915: “The Bioscope” – Scottish Musical Notes – The Picture House, Sauchiehall Street

On page 1047 of The Bioscope (page 67 in The British Newspaper Archive), on Thursday the 2nd

of September, 1915, is the following:

“The orchestra at the Picture House, Sauchiehall Street, is, I hear, shortly to be increased to

thirty performers. Music has always been a special feature at this popular and fashionable

house, and the augmentation will give added pleasure to the patrons. Several of the recent

selections have been real musical treats, at Trade as well as ordinary performances, and the

orchestra always comes in for special commendation.”
