The Jubilee Singers and the Foundry Boys’ Society, in the City Hall, on Sunday the 26th of October, 1873

A short article on page four of The Glasgow Herald, on Tuesday the 28th of October, 1873, reads:

“THE JUBILEE SINGERS. – On Sunday forenoon, the Jubilee Singers took part in the services of the City Hall meeting of the

Foundry Boys’ Society. The hall was crowded in every part by the senior boys and girls and the workers of the society. The Rev.

Mr Pike and Professor White shortly addressed the meeting, putting the claims of their enterprise before the boys and girls, and

recommending them to take a practical interest in the Fisk University.”
