The Science of Singing: Mr. Boyle, April 1826

In an advertisement in the Glasgow Herald, Friday the 14th of April 1826, page 3, under the heading ‘The Science of Singing’, Mr. Boyle, who was a pupil of Signors Vercellini and Garcia, informed the Gentry and Inhabitants of Glasgow that he intended establishing himself as an Instructor of the Science of Singing, upon the pure Italian principles. The advert has the details of what he was offering to the ladies and gentlemen, with times, and fees. The Ladies’ Class was held at Mr. Boyle’s residence, 14 Union Place. The Gentleman’s Class was taught at Mr. Knowles’s Class Room, 169 Trongate.
