Toynbee House Club Choir, with Miss Boyd Steven, Miss Jenny Allan, and Mr Bomphrey’s Orchestra, on the “Alexandra” Steamer, August 1904

An advertisement on the front page of The Greenock Telegraph and Clyde Shipping Gazette, on Monday the

8th of August, 1904, informed readers, in a note with an advertisement for the Queen Alexandra turbine

steamer, which went to Lochranza and Campbeltown, from Princes Pier, Greenock, and from Gourock, that:

 

“Toynbee House Club Choir (about 100 Voices), including Mr Bomphrey’s Orchestra, and the eminent Soloists,

Miss Boyd Steven, Soprano, and Miss Jenny Allan, Contralto, will accompany the Steamer.”
