Toynbee Musical Association, in Coatbridge Town Hall, on Saturday the 28th of October, 1905: Mr Hugh S. Roberton, Conductor, and Soloists, Including Miss Boyd Steven

A short notice in the ‘Coatbridge’ column, on page five of The Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser, on Saturday

the 28th of October, 1905, reads:

 

“CORPORATION RECITAL. – This afternoon the third of the present series of Saturday afternoon concerts takes

place in the Town Hall. The programme will be given by the Toynbee Musical Association, conducted by Mr Hugh

S. Robertson [sic], and the soloists will be Miss Boyd Steven, Mr Frank Rogerson, and Miss Clara Brooke, violiniste,

while Mr Harvey will preside at the organ. Bailie Pettigrew will preside.”

 

Please also see the advertisement for the concert on the front page of The Coatbridge Leader, on Saturday the 28th

of October, 1905. Tickets for the Front Area were sixpence, and threepence for the Back Area and Gallery. Doors

opened at 3 o’clock; the Organ Recital commenced at 3.20; and the Concert at 3.30.
