April 1876: Edwards’ Panorama, in Albion Hall, College Street
A short article on page four of the North British Daily Mail, on Tuesday the 18th of April, 1876, reads:
“EDWARDS’ PANORAMA.—A panorama, entitled ‘Life and Scenes in America,’ was exhibited for the first time in Glasgow
last evening, in Albion Hall, College Street. The scenery is well painted, and very effective, and the dioramic effects extremely
well managed. Some of the scenes were rendered more than usually interesting through some capital anecdotes relating to them
told in the course of a clearly delivered and well constructed lecture, aided by some excellent and appropriate songs and duets.
The entertainment proved very successful, and one deserving of patronage. The attendance for a first night was good, and the
applause unstinted.”
