April 1895: Arts and Crafts Exhibition, in the Queen’s Rooms
A short notice on page 198 of The British Architect, on Friday the 22nd of March, 1895, reads:
“AN Arts and Crafts Exhibition, the proceeds of which are to go towards clearing off the debt on
the Soldiers’ Home at Maryhill, is to be held in the Queen’s Rooms, Glasgow, from the 6th to the
11th of April. Among the gentlemen who have undertaken the arrangement of the exhibition are
Sir Francis Powell, P.R.S.W.; Mr. James Guthrie, R.S.A.; Mr. John Lavery, A.R.S.A.; Mr. Stephen
Adam; Mr. Kellock Brown; Mr. J. J. Burnet, A.R.I.B.A.; Mr. John Keppie, I.A.; Mr. J. A. Campbell,
I.A.; and Mr. A. Paterson, A.R.I.B.A.”
