Kelvingrove Art Gallery, September 1912: D. Y. Cameron’s “Cir Mhor”
A short notice on page three of The Glasgow Herald, on Tuesday the 17th of September, 1912, reads:
“KELVINGROVE ART GALLERY, GLASGOW.
The powerfully painted picture of mountain scenery ‘Cir Mohr’ recently purchased by the Corporation
from Mr D. Y. Cameron, has been hung in one of the east rooms of Kelvingrove Gallery, and forms a
notable addition to the collection of works by living artists. ‘Cir Mohr’ is one of the most impressive of
the mountain groups of Arran, and the artist has been remarkably successful in realising the desolate
grandeur of the scene.”
