May 1860: Glasgow Art Union – Exhibition of Prize Paintings, in the Royal Gallery, St. Vincent Street
An advertisement on page two of The Glasgow Free Press, on Saturday the 5th of May, 1860, reads:
“GLASGOW ART UNION.
THE EXHIBITION of the PRIZE PAINTINGS of the
GLASGOW ART UNION is NOW OPEN, in the
ROYAL GALLERY, 123 St Vincent Street.
Open from 10 A.M. to 9 P.M.
ADMISSION FREE.
ROBERT ALEX. KIDSTON,
