October 1857: Exhibition of Glasgow Art Union Prizes, in Liverpool

A short notice on the front page of the Northern Times (Northern Daily Times, in The British Newspaper Archive)

on Thursday the 29th of October, 1857, reads:

 

“EXHIBITION OF GLASGOW ART UNION

PRIZES. The Magnificent Collection of Pictures,

by Modern Artists, intended for distribution in December, as prizes

to the Subscribers, and which have created so much interest in

London, Manchester, and other large towns, will be on VIEW, on MONDAY,

the 2nd day of November next, at Messrs. Winstanley’s

Gallery, 41, Church-street, Admission free.—By order of the Committee.
