The Golden Age of Glasgow’s Art Trade: Crown Halls, Sauchiehall Street

For decades, the nineteenth-century Crown Halls on Sauchiehall Street hosted a wide range of

auctions and social events.

Subsequently re-developed and housing Victoria’s nightclub, the building was destroyed by a fire

in May 2018.

The structure is on the right-hand-side of this twentieth-century postcard, which provides a

fascinating view of a section of Sauchiehall Street, before pedestrianisation.
