The Golden Age of Sauchiehall Street: April 1859 – Thomas Annan Will Remove from 116 Sauchiehall Street, to 200 Hope Street, Early in May
Elsewhere on this website, is an entry for an advertisement in The Morning Journal which informed readers that Thomas
Annan was moving to new premises at 200 Hope Street, in February 1859.
However, one on page three of The Glasgow Courier, on Saturday the 23rd of April, 1859, in which Annan advertised his
“Just Published” ‘Photographs of Glasgow Cathedral’, as well as photographs of the ‘Hall of the Faculty of Procurators’, and
‘The Ruins of Iona’, indicates that the move was going to be early in May.
