August 1930: The Masque Theatre, at the Theatre Royal – “Mary of Delight”, A Curtain-Raiser, by Naomi Jacob
Mary of Delight, a curtain-raiser by Naomi Jacob, was presented by The Masque Theatre, at the
Theatre Royal, in Glasgow.
A review of Sheridan’s The Critic, on page ten of The Glasgow Herald, on Tuesday the 19th of August,
1930, ends with:
“The comedy is preceded by a curtain-raiser written by Naomi Jacob, giving an impression of Mary
Queen of Scots. It gives Maud Risdon a part that challenges her eminent abilities as an actress.”
