December 1893: Good Templars’ Harmonic Association – Second Grand Concert of the Season – Artistes Include Mr. Harry Lauder

An article on page three of the North British Daily Mail, on Monday the 4th of December, 1893, reads:

“GOOD TEMPLARS’ HARMONIC ASSOCIATION.

On Saturday night this association gave their second

grand comic concert of the season, when each of their

three halls—Wellington Palace, Albion Hall, and Bridgeton

Temperance Institute Hall—were all crowded with highly

satisfied audiences. There were twelve artistes—viz., Miss

Bessie Tyne, La Petite Lottie, Mr T. H. Spears, Messrs Kenealy

& Conlin, Mr Paul Langtry, Mr Harry Lauder, Mr Fred. Barquelay,

Mr Will Gibson, Mr Geo. Selby, Mr J. N. Cairns, and Mr Jack

Belton. The programme occupied two and a half hours which

apparently did not seem too long for the audiences.”
