December 1918: Historical Play, “Jacqueline”, by Mrs Walter Crum, to be Performed in January 1919

An article on page seven of the Daily Record and Mail (Daily Record, in The British Newspaper Archive), in

“This Morning’s Gossip”, on Saturday the 21st of December, 1918, includes a photograph portrait of Mrs Walter

Crum.

However, a search for her name in The British Newspaper Archive could have missed this particular article, as the

newspaper columnist mistakenly named her “Mrs Walker Crum.”

The text reads:

‘Jacqueline’s’ Authoress.

Ralston Hospital is to benefit by the total proceeds of the Victory Festival

which the Ladies’ Committee of Provand’s Lordship Club are arranging in

Glasgow. [Portrait of Mrs Walker Crum] The accompanying portrait is that

of Mrs Walker [sic] Crum, of Old Kilpatrick, the writer of the historical play,

‘Jaqueline,’ which is to be presented in the old mansion-house in Castle

Street during the week 13th-18th January, inclusive.”
