A short article on page four of The Glasgow Herald, on Tuesday the 22nd of October, 1901, reads:
“GOVAN JUBILEE NURSES’ FUND. – In connection with the Jubilee Nurses’ Fund for Govan,
inaugurated by Mrs Kirkwood, a concert was given last night in the new Town Hall. Provost and
Mrs Kirkwood and a number of the magistrates and town councillors were present, and there
was a good attendance. The programme was supplied by Mr W. F. Frame’s company, and it
included the two-act comic drama “Cramond Brig,” in which Mr Frame appeared as Jock
Howieson and Mr John Clyde as King James. The proceeds of the concert will go to the Nurses’
