Wealth of a City Guided Walks

Several of the guided walks are based on research undertaken by George Fairfull-Smith, over the past 30 years.  His 2010 book, The Wealth of the City: A ‘Glance’ at the Fine Arts in Glasgow: Volume One 1641-1830, is the first major study of the history of support for the fine arts in the city. The book’s title was chosen to reflect not only Glasgow’s wealth of art and architecture, but also wealth of information which has survived.
